Our handcrafted Essex canisters add a versatile storage and design element to any space. Simon first designed these vessels in the 1970s to create a display piece in our signature crystal clear glass that would highlight the items inside. The canisters’ straight sides and a classic dome lids make them ideal for organizing kitchen goods, storing apothecary items, or creating a centerpiece display. As an emblem of modern glassware at its finest, it’s an equally practical and unique gift.
During the creation process, expert glassworkers hand-blow and press each canister into a fitted mold to achieve the desired shape and size. The natural pontil mark on the bottom of each piece is left as an homage to the individual craftsperson and shows where the piece was affixed to the pontil tool during production. The rolled opening of the canister is then hand-finished to create a reinforced edging that makes the the lid easy to place and remove. Choose from three different sizes to suit your specific needs, or create your own set of ascending canisters to enhance any space.
